How to watch the Halloween movies ahead of the new film this month
The latest movie in the Halloween series is due to come out on October 15th 2021 and with 11 movies in the franchise, fans want to know how to watch them all.
The slasher movies follow Michael Myers, a masked murderer, his sister Lauria Strode and psychiatrist Dr Loomis.
All of the films are currently available to stream on Netflix UK.
Halloween (1978)[embedded content]
Directed by John Carpenter and starring Jamie Lee Curtis, the first film in the franchise tells the story of a mental patient who escapes from a hospital and stalks a female babysitter.
Halloween II (1981)[embedded content]
This film picks up directly from the previous one, where Michael Myers follows survivor Laurie Strode to the local hospital, while his psychiatrist Dr. Loomis continues his pursuit of him.
Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)[embedded content]
This is the only film in the series that doesnât feature antagonist Michael Myers. It moves away from the slasher genre of the previous films and has themes of sci-fi and witchcraft instead.
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)[embedded content]
After his absence from Halloween III, Michael Myers returns to screens after being in a coma. He looks to kill his niece Jamie Lloyd and is once again pursued by Dr Loomis.
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989)[embedded content]
Michael Myers returns with his scary character, also known as The Man in Black, to pursue his niece Jamie who had been institutionalised for trying to murder her foster mother.
Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995)[embedded content]
The sixth film in the series is also set six years after Halloween 5. It follows Michael Myers stalking Laurie Strodeâs cousins and the seemingly immortal Dr Loomis pursuing him once more.
Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)[embedded content]
Jamie Lee Curtis makes a reappearance as post-traumatic Laurie Strode, who has faked her own death to hide from Michael Myers.
Halloween: Resurrection (2002)[embedded content]
The eighth installment in the series has a star-studded cast with Jamie Lee Curtis, Busta Rhymes, Tyra Banks, Bianca Kajlich and Thomas Ian Nicholas.
It follows Michael Myers streaming a live internet horror show from his old childhood bedroom and his continuous murderous rampage.
