Taliban Angels of Salvation cover thief in tar and parade him around Kabul on truck

This is the shocking moment the Taliban cover a man they suspect of being a thief in tar and parade him around on the back of a truck.

The footage shows him strapped in on the back of the vehicle with his hands tied behind his back.

He was shown off and shamed to locals as the "Angels of Salvation" troops remain in Kabul.

The clip - obtained by Fox News - showed a convoy of Taliban fantastics following closely behind.

The so-called "Angels of Salvation" have been going door-to-door and hauling out people they think are thieves or political activists at gunpoint.

The network's video also shows Taliban fighters pointing rocket launchers at people pulled from their homes.

A young woman who had been teaching in Kandahar described how she had fled to Kabul.

"Now I'm taking refuge here in Kabul because of Taliban. But when it comes to Taliban we never expected this, that Kabul would be captured and the city has fallen.

"But now we are trapped, we cannot do anything, the Taliban are everywhere.

"I feel personally at risk from the Taliban because I was working for an educational organisation and the Taliban do not accept this, now I do not feel safe at all."

It comes as they Tories finally announced plans to help the Afghans fleeing the Taliban â€" but the offer has been called “woefully inadequate” by one of their own MPs.

Around 20,000 of the refugees are set to be given sanctuary in the UK over the coming years.

The Home Office has been accused of failing to act quickly enough after it revealed that only 5,000 Afghans facing persecution would be relocated in the first year.

It will leave thousands of vulnerable people at risk of violent recrimination.

The 20,000 is in addition to 5,000 Afghans â€" whose lives are in danger because they helped the UK â€" who are coming under an existing scheme.

But Tory MP Tobias Ellwood, a former Army captain, told the Mirror: “This is a woefully inadequate response given the scale of the refugee crisis we are about to face as a direct response to our withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“The Government really needs to see the bigger picture here and grasp the scale of the crisis we created.

“We are capping the numbers to 5,000 for the first year, when the threat is at its greatest. And obliging potential applicants to move to a refugee camp is fraught with danger.”
