  • Hannan gets a goal against his old side and lets Brayshaw know all about it. As a result, Hannan’s ex-teammates come after him, especially Harmes.

But for now Hannan is laughing loudest because his Bulldogs lead by 15 points with 2:00 left in the second quarter, 5.4.34 to 2.7.19.

We’ve gone past the halfway mark of the second quarter, and the Dogs continue to keep the Demons at arm’s length.

Luke Beveridge’s men lead by nine points, 4.3.27 to 2.6.18.

The only goals kicked so far this term have come via Naughton (Bulldogs) and Fritsch (Melbourne).

It’s a really scrappy contest as you would expect in these wet conditions, but the Bulldogs have dominated the territory battle.

The ball has basically lived in their forward half in the second half of the first quarter, and they lead by four points with 2:55 left in he first term, 2.2.14 to 1.4.10.

Bontempelli and Bruce their goalkickers while Petracca is solitary goalkicker for the Demons.

A massive blow for the Bulldogs with their best key defender Alex Keath subbed out already due to a hamstring injury. He has been replaced in the Dogs’ line-up by the sub Anthony Scott.

David Mackay (Adelaide) and Shaun Burgoyne (Hawthorn) are the medical substitutes at Marvel Stadium.

Harmes looks like he is tagging Liberatore like he did last time on the way to a best-on-ground performance.

Meanwhile, Schache has started in defence on Jackson and May has the job on Naughton.

It’s going to be a tough night for the tall forwards tonight with driving rain pounding the MCG.

After nine minutes, the Bulldogs have a four-point lead, 1.0.6 to 0.2.2.

Bontempelli is the only goalkicker so far, booting his goal with a lovely snap from 40m out moments after Brown missed a set shot down the other end for the Demons.

It wasn’t a convincing performance but it ended up being enough to hold off the Saints and the emerging superstar Max King.
